Floral Designer

*Job Summary* *Job Summary* An experienced floral designer who takes pride in their work and offers an overall positive attitude.
Would work closely with the shop owner as well as local caterers and hotel staff during events both large and small.
(There is also the possibility of future ownership to the right candidate.
) Keeps up with the latest tends and is generally enthusiastic about the floral business.
Would be responsible for basic daily designs well as a high volume of wedding and event work.
Reliability is critical!! Our weddings and large events are mainly in the Cooperstown NY area.
*Responsibilities and Duties* Must be able to cover all aspects of a flower shop, including working with customers & answering the phone, cleaning when slow, helping with deliveries when needed, and overall shop care.
You would be expected to know the shop's inventory and see that the shop is looking neat and tidy.
Must be able to go up and down stairs and be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
*You would be expected to work most Saturdays and some Friday evenings May-Oct.

Bonuses are paid based on large events and the enthusiasm to bring them to fruition.
This is a very laid back atmosphere, but when we work, we go hard.
Hard work gets rewarded!! *Qualifications and Skills* All candidates should have at least 2 years experience, and 2 previous job references with at least one being in the floral field.
One with general floral experience can be trained to work within our shops personal style.
